After completing medical school and his internship at hospitals in the UK, Dr Wilson went on to paediatric specialisation at the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend and then Birmingham Children’s Hospital (UK), developing expertise in nephrology, neonatology and cardiology.

This was followed by a year at Christchurch Hospital in New Zealand where he worked in general paediatrics and neonates.

Dr Wilson completed his advanced training at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Brisbane (working in intensive care, neonatal intensive care and with metabolic conditions), in Mackay and Alice Springs.

Dr Wilson enjoys spending time with his wife and four young children. He also enjoys playing and watching all kinds of sport, with rugby and cricket predominating.  He is married to Dr Catherine Stewart.
